I got to catch up with these so mostly skipped your movie review section and will come back to it. Haven’t seen any of this trilogy yet.
Well said and 100% right on the election and that candidate. I’ve mentioned before I live in a southern town (about 125,000 population) with a lot of rural counties surrounding mine. I’ve noticed what seems like many more Harris/Waltz signs proudly displayed in yards than I ever remember seeing in 2016 and 2020 for Clinton and Biden. I don’t know of that means anything big picture wise regarding an outcome and I know anything can happen so to speak next week but it is nice to see. And the cognitive dissonance I hear often regarding who this person is at their core is hard to take. Especially from people otherwise you could enjoy going to grab lunch with and catch a movie.
I think we're both old enough to remember living in a world where men considered a rapist to be the lowest form of humanity. There's no coming back from being a rapist -- and we've got special treatment for rapists in prison. It just boggles my mind that this is not a deal breaker for some.
For sure. I mean old enough to remember all the outrage about Clinton after his scandal in the late 90’s man. And I’m not saying that those people didn’t have a point about him but at least be consistent. Horrible acts should transcend and break through our political beliefs and allegiances.
Oh, Part two is a weird departure. Parts one and three are much more family friendly. If you can't watch with your family, watch on your phone, maybe on public transit. Or you can watch on your computer at work.
Did you realize as you were watching X that Mia Goth played both Maxine and the elderly Pearl? I missed the end credits the first time I saw it and didn't even realize that even as I interviewedd Ti for the movie.
This is EXACTLY the type of writing about film I want. Thank you. Connecting movies to the real world is what it is all about.
A million thanks!
I think people live in denial about what that man really is. Deep deep denial.
White Privilege means light skin and money forever buys you the benefit of a doubt.
Great read. I also love movies that show the origins of the deeply unraveled mind.

BTW changing gears..you watched Terrifier 3 yet?
Indeed, mentioned it briefly in the Terrifier review. Art The Clown is a delight!
Gotcha. Waiting to read your review once I’ve seen 1 and 3. Watched 2 last week finally.

Ah, it was spoiled for me beforehand. I probably wouldn't have guessed it.
