I finally saw the film for myself this year, after having put it off due to all the rotten reviews it got. Alas, aside from Anya Taylor-Joy stealing the movie out from everyone else, there wasn’t much about the film that I liked, either…
I agree! And maybe it’s a stance that’ll change over time, but I do think that while XMOW is very bad (as it’s also a 1 out of 5 star film), it’s not *boringly* bad like TNM is, y’know? You can mine entertainment out of mocking how shoddy and stupid XMOW gets, but with TNM, it’s just a sad slog; too competent in its technical construction (besides the editing) to make fun of it there, too lacklustre and sauceless in almost every other regard, and too annoyingly close to being interesting were it not for how flatly dull it is in handling its themes, imagery, and characters (Anya Taylor-Joy notwithstanding). It’s a tight race to the bottom, but imo, as of the present moment, TNM edges out XMOW for me as the worst of two bad options. 😁
This is one of only two movies I travelled out of town to see because NYC movie theaters were still closed but just a PATH train away, theaters at the Jersey City mall were open. Go figure.

Worse than X-Men Origins: Wolverine? That movie is, at times, borderline indecipherable!
