Oh my god, THANK YOU! I've been baffled by how few people seem to be able to talk intelligibly about this franchise, and instead zero in on the gorefest nature of the kills and then toss of some statemert like "there's no story". WHAT? Did...be honest, were you on your phone the whole 2.5 hour runtime of the sequel? Because you'd have to be checked right the f*** out to claim Terrifier 2 "has no story". It's has so much story that it - as you say - doesn't even have time to expalin most of it, just lay the groundwork. This is such a remarkable, unexpected horror franchise. Art has been called the "internet troll" of horror and I think that's apt, though we could also claim Freddie from Elm Street was the pre-internet version of the same so it's not like this is a purely modern thing.
I am surprised by how much they really plumb the coming-of-age conflicts Sienna experiences in the second film, both as far as screentime and as far as how oddly involving and sincere it is. Come for the massacre, stay for the interpersonal relationships!
These are great to read! You just made the case for series. I haven’t watched any but will this weekend! Thank you!
Many thanks! Enjoy!
I loved this article! Your perspective is fascinating.
I just watched the trilogy last week for the first time and I’m now one of the Terrified as well
AND NOW WE ARE TWO!
Many thanks, señor!
