I think you had to make an effort to be religious in prison, so most guys were not particularly interested. There were Christians and Muslims represented primarily, but you also had a lot of out-of-the-box options like Odinists and such.
I was raised Christian, for the record. I think there may still be a little bit of that young Christian inside me, I am receptive to one saying seeing the light. But that day isn't today.
BTW, I saw your post on Grady Hendrix’s book on kung fu action. I posted on it but wasn’t sure if you caught it. I’ve got that one on my list but was curious if you’ve ever read Paperbacks From Hell? Pretty interesting if you like the old horror paperbacks from the 80’s and early 90’s. Big fan of that guy. Read a few of his now and I hope they get an adaption right. The My Best Friends Exorcism adaptation was not it unfortunately.
Decarceration, did you meet many other non religious men while inside or did it just go more unspoken?
