HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS (2022) A micro-budget live-action Tex Avery cartoon that just never stops coming.
COCAINE BEAR (2023) I had no idea how screamingly funny this jacked-up mayhem would be.
12 HOUR SHIFT (2020) Echoes of REPO MAN-level absurdity in this delirious hospital satire.
HAIL, CEASAR! (2016) Outside of DEATH OF STALIN, communists have never been funnier.
JOHN DIES AT THE END (2012) Am I laughing, or just hallucinating that I'm laughing?
THE CABIN IN THE WOODS (2011) Watch every single horror trope get tickled to literal death.
THE ARISTOCRATS (2005) The world's filthiest joke, from every possible direction.
COWARDS BEND THE KNEE (2003) The giggliest Guy Maddin retro-mindfuck by far.

OH BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? (2000) The goofiest Coen Bros. by far.
HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH (2001) Sooooo many laughs amongst the wrenching pathos of this pretty-much-everything masterpiece.
I also have to add that every James Gunn film, from SLITHER to SUPERMAN, is jam-packed full of laughs. And as a guy with grandkids, I was stunned by how funny the TEEN TITANS, SPONGEBOB, and LEGOS movies were. I'll stop now, before I spend the whole day here.
I remember a long time ago when I was running a high fever of 103 and feeling absolutely miserable (I probably had the flu). My husband was working the night shift, so I was completely alone. I turned on the TV to distract myself and stumbled upon a Jerry Lewis movie (one of my favorites and now you know how old I am 😂).
Before I knew it, I was laughing so hard that by the end of the movie, my body felt lighter and my spirit completely renewed. There truly is healing power in laughter, it realigns the energy within us and opens space for wellness to flow.
Thank you again for reminding us how to restore balance and joy, even in moments of illness.
That is far too radical a therapeutic path. I don't believe Jerry Lewis made any movies since Y2K. His penitence for his filmography via "You'll Never Walk Alone" telethons redeems and offers a glimpse of how naturally funny he can be, especially when highly caffeinated & stressed on camera and trying to communicate authentically (if feebly) between generations.....
I feel a need to throw in mentions of What We Do In the Shadows -- there is something about the Kiwi sense of humor that is pure chaos.
Role Models also, which pairs Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott, and ends up being about as funny as a by-the-numbers buddy comedy can be (owing that partly to Jane Lynch).
And: Totally Killer -- Back to the Future meets Friday the 13th. That one is probably not top 100, but everyone I've recommended it to has had a good time.
Oh gosh, totally missed it because I hopped off to look up Frances Fergueson, which I'd never heard of. When I came back, my eye skipped right down to the Bad Santa jpg (#48). Anyway, Frances F is now on my To Be Watched list -- so, thanks!
For better or worse, I've largely given up on 21st century movies and I've only seen a handful of these. But those I have seen all take second place to a late 20th century movie that is one of the greatest American comedies of the sound era, the Robert Zemeckis/Bob Gale magnum opus, Used Cars. Forget Snake Plissken - Rudy Russo is Kurt Russell's greatest role. For years I yearned for a sequel that would depict Russo's career in politics, and then I realized it was unnecessary, because, you know - Bill Clinton.

- Hollywood comedies are usually not my thing but Zoolander, Anger Management, and especially Spy all hit the spot

Speaking of French films... being from Belgium I have to call dibs on A Town Called Panic! French money may have co-funded it but the directors, animation studio and the series it is based on are all Belgian.

For me… Monty Pythons’ “The Life of Brian” is the funniest movie I’ve ever seen 👍😂. It’s one of the most quotable movies ever ✅

That guy, Bob Byington, has made some very drool, very funny no-budget comedies this century, I recommend them all.
For better or worse, I've largely given up on 21st century movies and I've only seen a handful of these.
