To answer your last question, I thought he was the guy in the last picture. But I guess not.

Off the subject, would it be within your purview to review shows like World’s Toughest Prisons etc? Would be interesting to hear your take.

Also, on named show, the guy says he was wrongly convicted in the intro. Which I believed the first time. But then when I watched more episodes and he says it in the intro over and over I was like β€œhe’s saying it too much, I’m dubious.”

That's beloved Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins!

Anyway, I really don't care for programs like that, I feel like they're exploitative and they validate destructive approaches and attitudes towards mass incarceration. Much of the stuff on those kinds of shows involves stuff I never want to see again.

Yeah, that makes sense. Not that you asked, but a post about your general thoughts on such shows and why you don’t like them could be interesting too.

Anyway, you’ve already got an interesting format. Thx for the reviews.

Thank you so much! I’ve touched on the topic a few times. It’s an unpleasant one. But it’s an interesting idea for a longer piece some day.

It really feels like we're at the point where you can support representative democracy or you can support the republican party, but you can't do both.

The Republican Party has openly campaigned on policies that diminish or even eliminate democracy. It hasn’t been a secret for a long time, they’ve long stopped speaking in code about this.

They've stopped with the dog whistles and moved on to megaphones.
